Kathleen Sylvester Le Clerc Fowle was born in 1903 and was predominantly inspired by the 1920s. It was a time of recovery and introspection after the horrors of the First World War, which saw important shifts in politics. Surrealism grew throughout the 1920s and 1930s, with a focus on the human unconscious - an essential idea of Freudian theory. Le Clerc Fowle was born at Haslar in Hampshire. She attended the Slade School of Art and also received some private tuition. She showed at the Royal Academy of Arts among others. - About the artist
Kathleen Sylvester Le Clerc Fowle was born in 1903 and was predominantly inspired by the 1920s.
