About the artist
Philippe Timmermans (1957, Wilrijk, Belgium) is a sculptor with a rich artistic career and a deep passion for exploring human emotions and reflections in his work. He studied sculpture at the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, where he laid the foundations for his craftsmanship and artistic vision.
For more than thirty years, Philippe worked as a specialist in creating three-dimensional prototypes, executing sculptural commissions for museums and others, and designing various projects in the world of design and publicity.
Since 2011, he has focused entirely on his autonomous artistic work. His figurative sculptures excel in capturing intangible feelings and introspective reflections, translated into contemporary forms that invite the viewer to contemplate.
Philippe's more realistic works are deeply rooted in the tradition of classical sculpture. They bear witness to a sensitivity and vulnerability that subtly provide answers to complex questions and reflections. His sculptures thus form not only a visual but also an emotional anchor point in the contemporary art world.
