About the artist
Werner Van Reck (1959) studied advertising design and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
He combines communication with photography.
Many of his photo reports have been published in various magazines.
For Baobab, an organisation in Senegal, he created 12 black and white images for a successful fundraising initiative.
From 2008 until the end of 2009, he worked on the photo book Stadsmussen' commissioned by the city of Antwerp.
A book that portrays hundreds of Antwerp citizens, each with their own story.
Waiting For The Flood is his latest photo project that depicts European coastlines.
As a sailor and water enthusiast, he absolutely wants to capture the immense power and beauty of the border between water and land.
