Yan Lei is born in Handan, Hebei in 1983.
In 2002, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Hebei Quzhou Normal School. In 2006, he graduated from the Sculpture Department of Hebei Normal University with a bachelor’s degree.
Now he lives in Beijing and is a freelance artist.
His bronzes are telling the story that Yan Lei believes very much in that human mankind destroys step by step the globe but due to the strong sense of surviving people create a new world were humans beings are living like astronauts
