A table lamp in the form of stylized chestnut leaves and flower. The intertwined Art Nouveau "whip" lines of the base are the roots, and the bulb holders the outer shell of the chestnut. This table lamp from around 1900 dates from the time when electricity in the house was a novelty that you could be proud of. The light bulb itself was an attraction that was not hidden under a hood. Incandescent bulbs were also blown into unique shapes and were indestructible. These antique light bulbs are still burning. - About the artist
