- About the artistConstantin (Kostia) Terechkovitch was a Russian visual artist. He went to the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1917, but had to flee when the Russian Revolution took place. He decided to go to Paris, the capital of art, to study there. In Paris, Constantin lives in a Russian community in Montparnasse, where he meets Michail Larionov. In 1921, art critic and writer Serge Romoff helps him lift of his career, which led to a fair amound of success as an artist. Instead of returning to Russia after visiting Berlin in 1923, Terechkovitch stays in Paris. He made the sets and costumes for a ballet in Monte-Carlo in 1933, where he meets his wife. After the Second World War, Terechkovitch shifts his interest more toward sport, such as the Olympic Games and horse racing. In 1951, Terechkovitch became a knight in the Légion d'Honneur. Constantin mainly depicted landscapes, towns, cities, dancers and other figures. His work is colourful and bright. Terechkovitch died in Monaco in 1978.
