- About the artworkThe plain circular bowl is fitted with double scroll handles and a circular spreading base.
The detachable cover has a flower bud finial. Fully marked at the reverse and also stuck with the assay mark of The Hague 1795. Displaying an assay stripe.
Small tureens, also known as écuelles, were often used à la mode française, for serving broth for breakfast. Therefore, they were often part of an extended toilet service.
