- About the artwork'Effervescent' is that short moment before something is about to drastically change. The very fist sign that something is about to happen, almost unappreciable. 'Effervescent', like bubbles in the bottom of a volcano that is about to erupt, or a storm before sunrise.
Kerry Horne explores this crucial moment with unexpected colour combinations and many, many layers of paint. What are we looking at? is there something stable behind the movement?
One could even feel uncomfortable before such a painting, perhaps the same feeling that pushes us to move in a different direction, to change. - About the artist
Kerry’s education was multidisciplinary following the educational principles of the Bauhaus (the fundamental training was in a Design School directly descended from The Black Mountain College which began when the Bauhaus in Germany was forced to close).
He has practiced professionally in all three disciplines of Art, Design, and Architecture. Often as the liaison between these disciplines.
He has lived and worked in Raleigh, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, and currently in Amsterdam.Projects located in these locations in addition to Paris, New York, Riyadh, and other special places.
His paintings are scattered throughout the world in various corporate and private collections.
