- About the artworkBronze sculpture by Xie Aige;
Xie Aige established herself as an artist on the international scene remarkably quickly. During her first exhibition (Shanghai Duolon Museum of Modern Art/ 2005) she caught the attention of international art lovers with her original work.
Xie Aige is known as one of the younger generation’s most promising artists. Her studio is in Shanghai. Her bronze sculptures, which she colours in all sorts of shades, sometimes appear to have been chiselled from stone. With the subtlety with which her work speaks to the viewer, Xie Aige shows great promise! This 'Gold Apple' is a subtle sculpture. Aige knows how to eliminate unnecessary things and creates a simplified, almost abstract figure, leaving out most of the face, without loosing expression. Apples are used frequent in her artworks as they are having an important role in the Chinese culture. Due it's round shape it stand for a complete and happy family. The pronunciation of the word apple in Chinese sounds the same as the word for peace.
This art piece is having an edition of 8 pieces world-wide and will be delivered with a signed and numbered certificate. The artwork still stands in our collection in China. - About the artist
