- About the artworkHead of a female attendant, Region of ancient Gandhara, circa 4rd century, Stucco with traces of pigment, H21cm
The oval face with delicate features includes heavy-lidded eyes, high arching brows converging to a fine nose, and a small curving mouth with fleshy lips dimpled at each side. Big circular earrings adorn her ears. The forehead is centered by an urna. Her hair is arranged with elegant wavy curls undulating across her temples and falling on her shoulders, secured by a diadem in the middle.
The stucco material shows a varying patina with some earth encrustations - About the artist
It might happen that an artist or maker is unknown.

•“Manner of ….” In their opinion a work in the style of the artist but of a later date
•“After ….” In their opinion a copy (of any date) of a work of the artist
•“Signed…”, “Dated….” or “Inscribed” In their opinion the work has been signed/dated/inscribed by the artist. The addition of a question mark indicates an element of doubt
•"With signature ….”, “With date ….”, “With inscription….” or “Bears signature/date/inscription” in their opinion the signature/ date/ inscription has been added by someone other than the artist
