- About the artist
Wout Muller was a Dutch painter who is considered to be a ‘Noordelijke realist’ and the co-founder of the ‘Groep van de figuratieve abstractie’. He went to the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and was a teacher at the Academy Minerva in Groningen from 1971 to 1990. His work is often erotic and serene. In 2000, he died of a sudden heart attack, in the garden of his house in Waterford, Ireland, where he lived with his wife Clary.
