    Leendert van der Vlist (1894 -1962) - colorful street scene

    Leendert van der Vlist (Numansdorp 1894 - 1962 Voorburg) had everything to become a successful painter. Aanleg, a good teacher in the person of Willem de Zwart, and the happiness that his talent was recognized early. He was awarded a royal subsidy in 1913 and 25 years later, in 1938, he won the 1st prize from the Willink van Collenfonds. Especially in the period 1924-1930, gray tones make way for a clear palette. Leendert van der Vlist liked to work in southern countries. This panel shows how Van der Vlist brought more color into his work. Leendert van der Vlist is counted among the Leiden School. His work is appreciated by art lovers at home and abroad. (Txt® Google)

    Leendert van der Vlist è nato a Numansdorp nel 1894, è morto a Voorburg nel 1962. Ha vissuto e lavorato a Leida ma ha anche viaggiato molto all'estero. Fu allievo di W. van der Nat e in seguito fu allievo di Willem de Zwart. Ha vinto vari premi e nel 1943 è stato il vincitore della medaglia d'oro della società d'arte Arti et Amicitae di Amsterdam. Dipinse paesaggi, paesaggi urbani e paesaggi urbani, tra gli altri Firenze e Venezia. Appartiene alla scuola di Leidse. Il suo lavoro è incluso nel Museum de Lakenhal di Leiden, tra gli altri.
