- About the artworkHenk Munnik was a Dutch painter, draftsman and book binding designer.He worked in The Hague from 1937 to 1997. He studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. Munnik was a versatile artist. He painted figuratively (still lifes, nudes, portraits and village views), but from the end of the 1960s he worked in an abstract style. He produced fabric designs and provided (book) illustrations. His work is influenced by Dick Ket, Pyke Koch and Georges Braque. In 1960, Munnik was part of the Verve artist group from The Hague and was a member of Pulchri Studio.
