- Sur l'oeuvre d'artA small very nice colored Faure vase. It is in between his naturalistic flower designs and the abstract cubistic designs.
- Sur l'artisteEnamel artist Camille Fauré was born in Perigeux in 1827. Fauré spent an apprenticeship before setting up his own workshop at Limoges, where he worked for over fifty years. He became Limoges’, long named for its enamels, most talented artist. In 1925 he exhibited in the International Exhibition in Paris that gave name to Art Deco. His earlier works involved larger floral and figurative patterns, often in rich colours and they appeared on various products as vases, ashtrays, boxes and bowls. His later, geometric designs set him apart as a great creative enameller of the Art Deco style. They can be recognized through stylized patterns in hues of blue, red, orange and yellow, accented with blacks. Fauré passed away in 1944.
