  Late summer fruit still life, watercolour by Hendrina Alida Sollewijn (1783-1863). Signed lower left "H:A: Sollewijn fecit". Size: 40 x 29.5 cm. Hendrina Sollewijn from the Dutch town of Haarlem was, according to a 19th century source, a “meritorious painter of Flowers and Fruits. Every day she has the best opportunity to practice in the surroundings of her hometown, by drawing Flowers and Plants”. A basket of fruit is laid out on a marble tabletop. We see a composition of a vine with leaves, two kinds of grapes, peaches with a fly, a cut open pumpkin, raspberries, bindweeds, a grass with ripe seeds, a dahlia, an anemone(?) and a butterfly. Trees with their leaves still on fill the background. It will be autumn soon. Price: Euro 1.250,- (incl. frame)

  Hendrina Alida Sollewyn (28 ottobre 1783 – 6 ottobre 1863 ad Haarlem) è stata una pittrice e disegnatrice olandese. Il cognome è anche menzionato come Sollewijn. Ha firmato il suo lavoro come H.A. Solleyn.

  Hendrina Sollewyn era una figlia del produttore Pieter Sollewyn e Jansje la Roop. È stata insegnata dal pittore Wybrand Hendriks. Dipinse e disegnò nature morte con fiori e frutti. I contemporanei Roeland van Eijnden e Adriaan van Willigen hanno visto il suo lavoro alle mostre e l'hanno descritta nella loro Storia della pittura patriottica come: "una meritevole pittrice di fiori e frutti. Herr Hendriks era il suo insegnante, e ogni giorno ha la migliore opportunità di vicinanze della sua città natale per praticare la natura, disegnando Fiori e Piante. (...) Abbiamo visto anche Oggetti accuratamente disegnati, relativi alla Storia Naturale, realizzati da lei".

  Sollewyn era un membro del Kunst Zij Ons Doel, fondato nel 1821. Ha partecipato a varie mostre, tra cui una serie di mostre di Living Masters ad Haarlem, L'Aia e Amsterdam. Ha vissuto gli ultimi dieci anni della sua vita nel Teylers Hofje sullo Spaarne.

  Hendrina Sollewyn morì nel 1863, all'età di 79 anni.
